June has been unusual cold this year, but still there was so much to do. My Dad was here with us and we had a great time with him.
We went to the mountains together with him and some friends and picked wild vegerables in the forest. We also went fishing and then there was also Yumi's and Yuki's Sportsfestival. I love those Japanese Sportfestivals, because it's all about fun and not about who wins and who is best. SO the kids did also perform some dances...
I especially adore YOSAKOI, a folk-dance, which comes from the "Soran-coast" here in Hokkaido.
It's a traditional dance of the fishermen and now many groups make a modern version of it and dance it for fun or in competitions all over Hokkaido. The school also formed a team and it was gorgeous to watch.
We also had some wonderful guests. "Uncle Brian" from the USA came for some days to meet us all and also some of my friends and their families from Tokyo visited.
Now the house is empty again and so I go back to painting.
I finished the mushroom-paintings and I'm already so excited about the exhibition at the science-festival in August. Here you can already find some information about it and see some of my mushroom-art, but unfortunatelly it's only Japanese

I'm also already ecxited about the exhibition
Will do it later, because I'm really excited about all the news and upcoming events.
Hope all of you have a great time...
Julia

There's no reason to go thru such trial by fire. Just make a wish, even if its unbelievable, at least its therapeutic.
I can not only do one thing... actually I'm a very restless person. I only sit down to write letters or paint
At any rate, it's great you had such a wonderful time! Enjoy your summer!!! We've got the wettest June since 1967 here and just been flooded again which is kinda odd, cause it's June (winter) and it shouldn't rain at all ...
Hope you'll have it nice and hot when the kids get off for their summer vacation
Looking forward to more of your lovely paintings

We have harsh Winters over here with much snow and we are the latest to see the cherry-blossom, but I love that change of the seasons and the wild and untouched nature here.
If you visit Japan, please feel free to write me and I can recommend some nice places to you. If you have any questions about culture and customs, please feel free to ask as well.
I'm already very excited about it.
Since I finished all the paintings, I'm working on some new stuff. I just completed 2 cherry blossom paintings. And right now I'm working on another butterfly sunset, this time in Spring.
Can't upload them now though, because I don't have a USB-cable for my camera (gave mine to my Dad, so I have to buy a new one now).
Have a wonderful and creative week as well
Well, lucky me... I would go crazy if I were uneable to paint a straight line...
